Gently referencing Here and Beyond, the Duality Urn was created in collaboration with Portland, Oregon ceramicist Carson Culp. Trained at the storied Leach Pottery in Cornwall, England, Carson applies traditional technique to our elegantly modern composition. The hand-marked lower half of the Duality Urn maintains a quiet equilibrium with its smooth-surfaced top. Made on a pottery wheel from the centuries-old material of white porcelain, each urn features a hand-glazed interior of transparent celadon. The exterior is finished with a visually complex black oil spot or transparent celadon glaze.
