Carson Culp of Culp Pottery follows his roving curiosity across the world to explore his craft. From an apprenticeship at the storied Leach Pottery, to residency in Japan, to his current year of traveling between artist residencies, Culp draws inspiration by immersing himself in different cultures and pairing traditional techniques with modern approaches. His artistic exchanges help him discover new ways of working with the material, ultimately shaping his body of work with the unique sensibility of the places along his journey.
